One person goes around the outside of the circle singing: "I brought a letter to my friend and on the way I dropped it..." and then proceeds to drop an envelope behind one classmate who becomes the next "it." I remember playing it around Valentine's day in school and would like to teach it in my own classroom. Does anyone remember this one?
My grandmother used to sing/chant:
"A tisket, a tasket,
A green and yellow basket.
I wmusic circlerote a letter
To my fella
And on the way I dropped it."
I'm not sure if it's the same, but when I read your question, that's what it made me think of!
I wrote a letter to my love and on the way I dropped it, a little doggy picked it up and put it in it's pocket. He wont bite me and he wont bite you but he'll bite the one whose got it, so we'll all look behind us.
I remember this from kindergartmusic circleen:
A tisket, a tasket
A green and yellow basket
I sent a letter to my love
And on the way I dropped it...
A tiskit a taskit
a brown and yellow basket
I brought a letter to my friend
and on the way I dropped it.
This is what I learned in school in Omaha, Nebraska:
A tisket A tasket
A green and yellow basket
I wrote a letter to my love
And on the way I dropped it,
I dropped it
Good luck!
